From AHO

Jump to: navigation, search

A number of factors determine the health status of the WHO African Region, which does not compare well with other regions of the world. However, trends show marked improvement in health outcomes over the past decade (see figures). Trends in child mortality, maternal mortality and adult mortality have improved considerably. The trend in the burden of several diseases, including malaria, has also decreased substantially.

Trends in under-five mortality, per 1000 live births
Trends in maternal mortality ratio, per 100 000 live births
